Scienti-Fact appears to be an obvious riff on Hugo Gernsback's Scienti-Fiction. Or - depending on the timeline or reading audience -- perhaps vice versa.
Scientifiction.jpg
Gernsback claims to have coined his awkward, tongue-twisting word in 1915, and its first use in print came in his Electrical Experimenter for January, 1916. It was popularized over a decade later with his launch of the first magazine completely devoted to science fiction, Amazing Stories, in April 1926.

The earliest use of Scienti-Fact that I can find is in a RIPLEY'S BELIEVE IT OR NOT clone, the comic strip AMAZE A MINUTE by Arnold [Caverly Mason]. It ran from November 8, 1930 to 1938, using Scienti-Fact as a secondary title.
Amaze.jpgScientifacts 19371129 (Reading Times).jpg
A little later, the READING (Pennsylvania) TIMES had a semi-regular, bannered daily column called Scienti-Fact. It collected scientific trivia from various sources and ran irregularly from Tuesday, April 16, 1935 to Monday, November 29, 1937 (possibly earlier or later as well).

The science fiction strip, **JET SCOTT**, by Sheldon H. Stark and BATMAN artist Jerry Robinson, aooeared from Monday, September 28 1953 to Sunday, September 25 1955. The titular hero was the top agent for the Office of Scienti-fact.
Jet Scott 19530928 (Hartford Courant).page1.jpg

Julius Schwartz. an editor at DC Comics, and a force in the early days of science fiction, then chose Scienti-fact as the title of a series of science fillers that temporarily filled space from lost ad accounts. These were one-third or one-quarter fillers in comics dated August, 1964 to August, 1965. A second set, some reissued, were used in books from October, 1970 to April, 1972; the latter were usually reprint comics with more than the standard 36 pages.

All the material used were recolored, partial reprints of fact fillers that originally ran in Schwartz-edited comics in the early 1950's, like STRANGE ADVENTURES or MYSTERY IN SPACE.

The Scienti-Fact features are indexed below. Except as noted, all the scripts are assumed to be written by Julius Schwartz and published by DC Comics, with art by diverse hands. I've sorted them alphabetically by title.

There are 60 unique entries, not counting reprints. Many of these are not in the Grand Comics Database index.
